Relaxation

Introduction

Most of us have a lot of pressure in our daily lives from work, family, relationships,
traffic, etc.  When the pressure reaches a certain level, it takes a toll on our
physical as well as mental health.  Relaxation helps to release such pressure,
making us healthier and happier.

Regular physical exercise, sufficient sleep, and proper diet will keep us in good
shape physically and mentally.  Adding some relaxation techniques to our daily
routines will make us healthier and happier.  

Three levels of relaxation techniques are presented on this website:

Body: Self massage and Chinese yoga (Dao-in) are examples of
techniques that relax the body.

Mind: Meditation techniques have been well known for calming the mind.

Thought: The way we see the world has a significant impact on our health,
mentally and physically.

This website was created based on techniques used in a Fall 2008 relaxation
class for a
group of staff at a grade school in Memphis, TN.  Not all techniques fit
everyone, so choose the ones you feel are appropriate for yourself.  If you feel
calmer, happier, and healthier, you know you are on the right path.
